Cable Communiqué

By Bob Wolfley -- Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 10/17/2007

Fourteen Wisconsin legislators have decided the two major cable television carriers in the state are to blame for declining to carry the NFL Network.

Hence, they signed a letter urging Time Warner Cable of Wisconsin and Charter Communication to "respectfully ask that you side with the fans and your customers and offer the NFL Network as part of your broad, affordable programming package."

The lawmakers who signed the letter are a bi-partisan group who represent districts in Wisconsin that will not be able to see the Nov. 29 game to be televised on the NFL Network between the Green Bay Packers and host Dallas Cowboys. Milwaukee-area viewers will be able to see that game on WISN-TV (Channel 12). Out-of-state viewers, who are satellite TV subscribers, can get the NFL Network. But others will not have access.
